In a heart-wrenching incident, a car carrying six individuals met with a disastrous fate as it tumbled into a gorge in the picturesque region of Nainital, Uttarakhand. The mishap resulted in the loss of one life, while the other five occupants sustained severe injuries.
As the weather undergoes a transition with the arrival of winter, the likelihood of road accidents surges, particularly in hilly terrains, attributed to factors like fog. Sadly, this prediction materialized with the recent incident in Nainital.
The unfortunate event occurred early Monday morning, near Jaurasi in Uttarakhand's Nainital district. Chhatar Singh, a resident of Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh, tragically lost his life, leaving behind a somber aftermath for his family and community. The injured have been identified as Suraj Singh, Jitendra Dasila, Santosh Mehar, and Harish Kumar.
Promptly responding to the distress call around 4:00 am, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) initiated a rescue operation. The SDRF team efficiently extricated the five survivors from the wreckage and promptly transported them to the nearest medical facility. Simultaneously, the lifeless body of Chhatar Singh was recovered and handed over to the district police for further formalities.
Authorities report that the vehicle, carrying six passengers, veered off the road, resulting in the tragic incident. "There were six people in the vehicle, out of which five were injured, while one died on the spot," stated the police. Further details regarding the circumstances leading to the accident are pending and anticipated to be revealed as the investigation progresses. The community now waits with bated breath for updates on the condition of the injured and the unfolding of this unfortunate episode.
