Election Commission Greenlights Rythu Bandhu Scheme, Boost to BRS Ahead of Poll Day expected!

In a significant development in Telangana, the Election Commission has given the green light for the disbursement of funds under the Rythu Bandhu scheme on Friday.

Following the directives from the Election Commission, the Telangana government is set to initiate the distribution of Rythu Bandhu Subsidy money. The scheme aims to provide financial support to farmers.

With a cultivable area of 1.47 crore acres in Telangana, a substantial sum of Rs. 16,000 crore is slated to be disbursed under the Rythu Bandhu scheme directly into the bank accounts of farmers. This move is expected to benefit around 60 lakh families.

Political experts are viewing this development as a potential masterstroke for the BRS, as it not only addresses the financial needs of a significant section of the population but also positions the ruling party favorably in the eyes of voters.

The Congress had previously lodged a complaint with both the ECI and the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), urging them to instruct the state government to refrain from releasing the funds before the elections. However, with the Election Commission giving the green signal, the Rythu Bandhu scheme would set to play a pivotal role in shaping the political landscape in the prelude to the polls.
